Welcome to
Mountain Girl Pickles!
My name is Laraina, and I am a fourth generation canner. I started canning while working at a restaurant in Nederland, CO. The restaurant used a variety of pickled veggies in their Bloody Marys. One summer, my dad was out to visit and we started talking about our family history of making pickles. The owner of the restaurant got involved and asked if we could make some pickles for the restaurant. I accepted the challenge and produced a pickle that we added to the famous Bloody Mary we served.
People started really enjoying the new addition to the Bloody Marys, and began asking if they could purchase more from me. This is how Mountain Girl Pickles was born! In 2014, I started making more pickles, and added other great pickled vegetables to my line up such as Pickled Okra (my favorite), Pickled Green Beans, Pickled Garlic, Pickled Asparagus, Corn Relish, Pickled Brussel Sprouts, and Pickled Beets.
As the popularity of my products grew, I started selling at local farmers markets and holiday markets across the Front Range in Colorado. My pickled vegetables were a hit! I continued to grow and expand into more markets, and finally onto store shelves. I am now in over 14 farmers markets and 17 stores across Colorado.
I'm thrilled that I was able to learn this family tradition from my dad and turn it into a business! I seasonally source my produce from local farms I work the farmers' markets with.
I love what I do and am happy to spread the deliciousness to as many people as possible! I hope you enjoy my pickles as much as I do. Don’t forget: Everything is better pickled!
